no problems here in the wet myself, if i put my foot down i do spin the wheels but i can do that in the dry so its all about gradually applying the power

got goodyear gds3's on the front and no name crap tyres on the rear, and just drive according to the conditions and thats it

the best handling car i've had was sadly a Citroen AX GT, it only had 100bhp but it only weighed as much as a packet of crisps (in fact a packet of crisps was probably made of material thicker than the body of the ax) :D, it was lowered 60+mm all round and had 195/45/14 tyres (15's were too big for the arches, without mods). Handled like a go-kart. The damn thing was too low geared though, kept hitting the red line in 5th gear (had to add a rev limiter to stop the damn thing over revving).

No shame in that mate, I've had numerous AX GT's, my last one was a forte with a VTS lump..... pretty awesome track weapon.

My nova was the sane mate was so low I could only have 3 of us in it at once or it scrped along the floor :cartman: but with the strut brace and stiff suspension it handled like a dream managed to get it on three wheels on quite a few occasions :) Neva span it tho was just to bloody good :p lol

Personally my best car was my 68 beetle which after rebuilding a few engines ended up having a 1641 twin webber power plant! :) about 15mpg if I was lucky but spat flames out the back end like no tomorrow! espec fun drifting around a round about with 10ft of raw fire out the back :D

Made even more so when a stupid CHAVVY white Nova was behind revving his weedy little engine as i was sat on tick over grumbling away - so few top end revs and let the over run do its bit all up his bonnet :) haha! I wasnt counting on SO much petrol dumping out and actual fire on his bonnet but never did see him again!

:'( I miss it - sod the E36 M3 drift car, I wana switch for a scooby powered bug!!

I thought this thread was about LC wet handling, from the last few posts I thought it was the crap car discussion! Lmao.... Now I'll sit back and await the backlash!

ill get in my mates nova and race you ;) :p lol or the astra????? your choice :p come on then whats your car history if ours are crap :D

Running perelli p1 on mine. Good as gold unless you take the roundabout at 60 in the wet . Stupid yes! Handles no! Unless you can get 555 wide tyres with no air in them , I think you will alway struggle to stop it sliding.
May of been that the road you was on was alittle greasy??? Tyres do help though. Just finding a good all rounder for wet and dry.
Just think of all the fuel you would save any how now you know you have to ease off the throttle.:D

I use continental sport contact 3's and they are good wet or dry. (As long as it's above freezing and no snow!) they are probably as good as the mitchies but do wear quite quickly, or maybe thats just me.....
pirellis are a big no no, as are dunaplops.

Winter tyres I use Verdesteins Wintrac Extremes which are pretty awesome. But I haven't tried others yet so no real comparison. I've heard good things about the Nokian G2 and some people use TOYOs but I don't know enough about them to judge them.

Well i have to say mine is not too bad, T/C was blipping its little light all over the shot but felt fine.

I love my new car!

Better to put the good ones on the rear.

He throws the line, gives it 30mins and he's got a bite!!! Lol, im winding you up! Although I was expecting a bigger backlash than that! My car history is a rover 414is; pure quality! IMO all the cars that were mentioned are crap but hey each and to there own.

ha mint, my first car was a j plate nova sr, sportex exhaust, dropped on 16 so i could only get 1 person in the back sat in the middle lol it even had the sexy mondeo estate spoiler fitted wehey

then iv had punto sporting, corsa sri, cav sri and gsi2000, mg zr, mk2 and mk3 golf gti valvers, 206 gti, mondy zetec s and then my LC! theres bin a couple of proper shitters in between like an ornage flip painted rover 214 gti and rover 200vi with a faded passnager side lol

but on with the real question on this thread, my leon doesnt seem to give me any **** in the wet, aslong as i adjust what im doing with the car it responds well, spins up 1st to 4th if im gunning the loud pedal making it push on if im giving it some out of a corner but hey, most cars will act like that under pressure in the wet :D

I have to say my LC is perfect in the wet and as for the snow, worst snow i've ever seen, every other car was getting stuck and abandoned and mine was superb, even though the torque was through the roof, altho i think this just means i'm an excellent driver :)

Drive to the conditions and any1 can drive in them

I do think the standard 16s aren't brilliant in the wet, but you just get used to it and decent tyres make a big difference. However, using the same rubber (FK452) my Focus ST's 18s had shed loads more grip in the wet than my LC's 16s. (but then they were 225 18 rather than 205 16)

Best tyres I've experienced wet and dry have been Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's

Have Falken 452's on front the now, their OK and have lasted perhaps longer than the GSD3's but not as grippy.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics on the rear, seem OK the past 6 months or so. Would like to try them on the front so I could get a feel to how much I can push them though.
