Right you're going to have to bear with me here, bit of a noob mechanically wise and a few problems have cropped up that I need answering from the vat of wisdom that is cupra net :) .

I've tried searching for these problems but nothing specific or helpful enough comes up so thought I'd try my luck at posting!

Firstly I've had the TA Technix coilies for about 2 years now and am now a bit sick of being terrified of speedbumps plus not to mention all the rattles that have developed lol.So would like to raise it a touch but how easy is it to do for a novice such as myself?Any guides or instructions etc would be greatly appreciated.

Second big problem is my reverse gear; very hard to engage and often takes me a few goes to get it and I find myself having to hold it in sometimes otherwise it slips out!First gear is also a problem occasionally, sometimes it will not engage no matter how hard I try, other times it slips in no problem! All the other gears are fine, just reverse and first. Is this a problem with my gearbox or is it clutch?pedal box related?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

with the coilies you slacken off the bottom locking ring then wind the other ring thats below the spring up/down then lock the bottom one below it. if they havent been touched for 2 years the threads may be rusted so will take some time to free them off. with the gears it could be the linkage is loose so check all the nuts on the linkage to make sure they're tight. take a look at pedal box on the left side of it to see if its snapped. could be stretched clutch cable too.

Hmm you make it sound simple enough but knowing my luck it's not gonna be!lol.

How do I reach the linkage, take off the gaiter and have a look through there? How do I check the pedal box, surely it would be obvious if it had snapped?Anyway of checking if the clutch cable is stretched?

Sorry for the list of questions but like I said, mechanical noob! Thanks

the gator plastic surround pops off but you wont see much. have a look down the back of the gearbox at the linkage on that end. the pedal box snapping is very easy to spot as it always goes in the same place - on the clutch pedal support. take the storage bit out from under the steering wheel and have a look directly above the clutch pedal. theres not really any way to check the cable is stretched but you can get a new one for 20 quid.
