Unless it had electric seats from the factory then no.

The correct way to wire them is running a positive feed from the permanent supply under the dashboard, via a 30A thermal fuse, and then off to a decent earth.

The OE cabling used for the electric seats is heavier gauge than that used for the ciggy lighter - the ciggy lighter is also only protected by a 15A fuse and not a 30A as needed by the seats.

I never had an issue with mine and they were in for two years, with people messing around the buttons

Sorry to bump this again guys but can someone confirm if leather Recaros from an S3 will bolt straight into a Mk1 LCR?

This how to is great but need to know if the above will fit and does it matter if they're from a 3 or 5 door S3?

S3 recaros will bolt straight in as Rodie said, if they are from a mk1 s3. The airbag plugs may be different and you'll have to wire in the heater buttons yourself if they are heated. If they move electrically, follow this thread and you'll be fine.

Final question (hopefully) guys;

Will the S3 Heated Seat switches fit straight into a LCR console or what options do I have?

Last S3 was think maybe 53? It shouldn't matter what year they come from, however you may have to solder the airbag plugs off your old seats to fit to the cars loom. Read M20FES' RR, he installed R32 konig seats. He used a kuafatec? Loom and lhd seat switches, otherwise just wire the switches under the seat and use them when needed and hide when not under the seat? That's what I was going to do with my r32 seats but sold them before
