How to check battery?

My car has been refusing to start recently. It's just had an 80k service, so the plugs have been changed. Could the battery be on its way out? Is there an easy way to check this?

Im in the same sito as you. My battery is very weak. i have a bettery tester which you plug into cigrette lighter, tells you the voltage.
If you want check your battery flud in each cell.

What's normal voltage?
The car is a 2001 reg, and AFAIK hasn't had a new battery since.

think its 12 volts, my tester just shows 3 ligths, green orangeand red. mines on orange but goes to red when i start it! My car has covered around 90k. i be need a new battery also

Normal voltage is 12.6v. if its down near 12.2v or less after the engine has been stopped for a few minutes, your battery needs replacing. It will read over 13v if you test it when the engine is running.

Go to any garage and they will test it for you, usually for free, if you don't have a voltmeter.
