How to get 240HP ? (K03S or JBS04)

Hello,

I have a Seat ibiza MK3 1.8T with 205HP. My mods are : Oettinger chip, full Milltek, green twisteer, TIP and DV007P by Forge and N75K.

I am looking for 250HP max, but I don't know which way to go : K03S with Forge FMIC or the JBS04 (without FMIC cause of money) ?
Which configuration should be more reliable ?

Without FMIC on a K03S or JBS04 : is it really bad for the performance or the engine ? (because I don't know, with the stock SMIC, at which temperature the air arrive in the engine...)

And a last question : what do you think about to put an ATB Quaife on an Ibiza with less than 250HP ? is it good or not necessary ?

theres no way you are going to get 250bhp with a jbs04 without the FMIC. If cost is your issue stick to a k03s.

For any decent bhp figures, you are going to need a fmic. be that on a k03s/jbs04/ihi etc...

With the mods you have so far i'm surprised you are only seeing 205?

you say no way, but it will do, just heatsoak like a mutha...
my ickle ibiza ran 320bhp on IHI on stock SMIC initially. still went like stink, but temps rose fast. Even heatsoaked it was extremely rapid.
not advising you ignore IC, but it can achieve without it if needs must

I only have 1,2 bar max of boost, and I have 200ch @ 4700tr (on a dyno my curve oscillates between 192ch and 198ch until 6000tr) and 33Nm @ 3300tr.
In france we don't have the same power ... but my car is faster or equal at a lot of ibiza here with the same mod...

it will do, just heatsoak like a mutha...not advising you ignore IC, but it can achieve without it if needs must

You quite correct bill. i was a bit hastey answering. I was considering reliability issues though. I thought running bt without adequate cooling can be detrimental to the engine. Is this correct?

K03s turbos can be picked up from car breakers and scrapyards if you are lucky. I think they are fitted to Leon Cupra's 180bhp, later Mk 4 Golf GTi 1.8T's, Mk4 Ibiza 1.8T's, Skoda Octavia vRS 1.8T's and several Audi's?.
If you do a search on here you should be able to find out what engine codes have this particular turbo fitted.

when you have over 300bhp do you notice the 10 odd you loose from heatsoak? not much.

not really, not advised, as ecu will just pull down timing and boost when it see's hot temps. will it damage? not as in melty.
