Just made a very unpleasant discovery..

I've been away for some weeks and today when I tried to use ny car (Leon FR 180hp) it was completely dead.
The battery is empty.
Then I made the bitter discovery that the Leon is lacking regular locks..

So how do I gain access to the car/engine bay?
The battery is in the engine bay, but to gain access to the engine bay I need access to the inside of the car..
Gaah. ..

Next to the door handle where you would normally expect the key hole :p think there's a slot underneath it where you can prise it off with the key. Just need to be careful not to scratch the paintwork.

I thought this could not happen as according to the handbook as soon as the battery gets down to a certain level it goes into hibernation mode? Or perhaps I dreamt it!

Oh interesting.

I'm also a bit puzzled that this even happened. I did charge the battery properly just 3 weeks ago and the car have been standing in a garage with 15c temperature the whole time..
It's not even 1 year old but is still acting up.

you could have bet your house that the manual would be in the car......under the seat, in the cubby.

Haha yeah..

But seriously where do people store their manual if not in the car :p
If I want to look up a feature on the car it would make sense to have it in the car, except this time.. :p

The car is the obvious (and only?) place. As implied from one posting above, there is always the online manual as a fall back; I have a copy safely installed on my computer.

Yes, I know you may not have access to your computer if you are stuck in the middle of nowhere... but the Cloud, Dropbox, etc. could well come to your rescue.

I didn't have the manual saved anywhere, before yesterday.
But instead seatcupra came to the rescue :)

I had this problem with my last Biza Cupra, and it was supposed to do the same thing with the battery, but after a 2 week holiday the car was as dead as a dodo. After the AA man got it going I visited the dealer, and was told there were cases of the car "waking" from the sleep mode and using too much power. It was sorted that day and I never had any bother again, so maybe a dealer visit is in order.
