How to strip of existing waxes.

hi around 2 months ago i washed, clayed, ploished glazed and finally waxed my leon. At present it is still beading, although i now have some new products and was wondering what the best method was to remove the existing. will a good shampoo wash with a lance remove the current waxes.

Claying will remove some wax, but that's not what it's designed for so it won't strip it all off without going mental and spending hours at it. What it will do is remove any marks or pitting from the top coat to make it appear smoother. It's best to re-wax after claying to keep that coating as thick as possible.

Washing the car with regular washing up liquid should strip off pretty much all of the wax thanks to the lovely anti-grease components. Of course once it's all gone you'll want to do the entire detailing process from scratch

good old fairy liquid, the best degreaser to use bar non lol,

+1 to washing up liquid... mix some in with your usual car shampoo, thats what the guy that detailed my car told me to do

APC will strip a car back but you'll need it a 4:1 or stronger.

Either apply it from a spray bottle or foam lance.

The problem with the lance is that you dont know what dilution its being applied onto the car at.

My method is

Quick jetwash of the car to get the heavy deposits off
Good covering of APC (4:1) via spray bottle - left to dwell for 5-10 minutes
Snow foam via lance
Rinse
Wash in normal way
Clay
Rinse
Polish via DA if required
Apply sealant / wax etc

similar question ,
is truckwash a good idea to strip back , have used it in very diluted state and have stipped off freshly applied polishes and wax , but was a little paranoid its too harsh etc

i have some truck wash, just be carefull with the mixture and you should be fine, and don't let it dry on the car!

nah i watered it right down , and let soak for 1 -2 minutes before jetting back off
