I don't think there is a right way or wrong way.

Doesn't "Seat" have Spanish/German heritage....

I believe the German pronounciation is Say-at Lay-on which is what the company officially use if I am not mistaken.

Say-at Lee-on (is a German/English amalgamation).

I'm English and I personally pronounce it "See-at Lee-on." It's the same with brands like adidas... We don't make a special concession in pronouciation due to it being German. :)

SEAT Is an original Spanish company and its only connection with Germany is the fact that it is now owned by VAG.

The name comes from Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo (Spanish Touring Car Company). In the earliest days, 1940, the company was SIAT (which would be pronounced See-at) but the name changed to the current form in the 50's

You can pronounce it how you wish in the UK, but in Spain it is sayat-layon. Also, it should always be spelt in capitals as SEAT is an acronym not a word.

Incidentally the spelling used in Spain has an accent on the o - León. SEAT UK drop the accent.

Good stuff... thank you for this. Will probably still say, see-at lee-on lol grown up with it.

Actually, it is not named after a lion, it is named after the city of León.

SEAT cars are normally named after cities or locations in Spain. Marbella, Toledo, Cordoba, Alhambra, Ibiza etc.

They have had a few which are different such as the Mii and Exeo.

Exeo is from the Latin word exire. Means to go beyond.
Mii is "reward" when translated to English
