You might want to check with Lloyd but he normally doesn`t turn up for work until 10am so i shouldn`t be to keen to turn up. I will see what i can organize at work and let you know later.:)

Well done AvRS,

I have now booked my car into jabba for big turbo, clutch, fmic(which i had to suply as they don't sell them) Coilovers and rear spacers. going to be an expensive trip but i'm sure it will be worth it, surely your power will be really restricted without a fmic?? jabba said without a fmic they wouldnt be able to get past 200bhp before the temps went sky high?? have you had it rolling roaded? i would be a bit worried if somone mapped my car and didnt rolling road it as you have no idea whats going on?

It probably will be restricted without an FMIC but as I never really had any of this planned I had to borrow the money to do it and couldn't afford to get one at the same time. In the mean time I'll be doing the pikey mod to the wheel arch to vent it as this should help slightly. When I can afford the FMIC I'll get it done by them anyway and get them to look at the mapping again so isn't a big thing. It hasn't been on a rolling road as the guy who mapped it said not to due to the clutch being brand new and he's seen them burnt out before when RR'd straight after. I'm not that bothered really about figures, it's all about how it drives and I'm more than happy after my recent trips. After I've bedded the clutch in a bit it'll be going on a RR and maybe back for a bit of tweaking as they said once it's all settled they can see what more is available without pushing it too much. I can definitely recommend APS to anyone as the work carried out and customer service is top notch.

Well done mate,

I can't wait to get mine done its going in on the 14th then will pick it up prob the fri after that, i was a bit worried about them rrding the car with a brand new turbo and clutch but jabba seem to think it will be fine so i will let them crack on with it. how much power do you think you are running at the moment, i know its not all about figures just wondering what the guys think it should be putting out! how does it drive is there a massive surge of power or is it just a smooth power delivery?? i couldnt make my mind up allards or jabba but as i have used jabba in the past and they did me a good deal i went with them although i do think they are a bit more expensive!

I personally, and knowing what sachs clutches are like as i work for them, wouldnt reccomend them sticking it on the rollers straight after he new clutch has been put in. I was told, via sachs race engineering in Germany that they really need at least 400-500 miles to bed in before you give them any stick at all. I did about 370 on mine before i took it to santa pod for GTI inernational last year and it was fine. But seriously, if they stick it on the rollers, i wouldnt be suprised if it does slip especially as its not bedded in.

I was so excited when I got my keys I actually left without asking what sort of figures it's putting out but I'll be popping in this week to see them so will ask then. You'll love your car once it's all done as the power feels great. Mine doesn't give a huge surge but I feather the pedal till I'm between 2.5-3k then give it some and it really does pulll up until the red line. If I change up early there is slight lag but that's to be expected in the lower rev region being a bigger turbo so I try to keep it above 2-2.5k if possible and it happily goes. If you do drop off boost then give it a little you do feel the huge surge and this is when traction can be tricky so I'd be progressive up unitl mid revs then go for it. I'm more than happy and am sure the car's got more to give but I'm going to stick with what I've got till it's all properly run in then possibly take it back for a look when I can afford an FMIC. Enjoy mate

Yeah definitely that'd be cool to see what difference there is between the 2. Where and when do you do the photo nights in MK as I'll be up for that but the car will need a good clean as it's not been done in a while.

I popped in to APS today as I was passing and they did a few checks and took the car out to make sure it's running as it should and it got the all clear, I just wanted it checked now its run in a bit. I got some good comments about the car, apparently it drives alot better then when they finished with it and said it was on par with a golf they had there. The golf is running hybrid, FMIC, uprated clutch, uprated cams (or something like that, wasn't listening properly) and milltek I believe and is putting out around 225bhp when it was rr'd at Superchips. Ed (guy who took the car out) said mine drove better as it didn't smoke as much or wheel spin like the golf and would say mine's doing around 210 -215bhp quite easily. I asked about not being able to get over 200 without an FMIC and was told that's not the case but an FMIC would help. I know I'll suffer come the summer (if it ever comes) but hopefully once I've vented the arch that'll help a little. Anyway I'm happy with what they thought and can't wait to get it RR'd sometime.

Let me know when you've had your's done Mikey and we'll meet up and also about the photo night.
