I have a broken Sat Nav.

Hey,

Was wondering if anyone has the factory fitted Sat Nav system in there Seat. I have a LCR 02-plate and the other day it insisted that my car was a boat and I was sailing from Margate to Colchester ..... The GPS viewer says it can see 32 Sats but is reviving 0.
There does not seam to be a fuse for the receiver or anything as easy as a reset "tool/button". I have tried cleaning the CD as well but no joy.

Has anyone else seen/hear/had this problem. Or is it back to seat I go?

I have managed to enter the location of the car using the "manual location" tool. It seams to work but am confused how it does because there is still "0" sat's being recived.

Will have to taki it back to Seat and get them to sort that, I will post the cost/problem when it is fixed.

Never had that prob. Worth checking the aerial AFAIK the GPS receiver is built into it.

i never had the problem either.
mine seems to manage to see 7 satellites out of 23 or so.
my advise is that you should remove and check the arials for rust. i suspect that they might be corroded.

I had that problem with mine, it turned out to be the cable join in thew roof lining had broken, the GPS antenna has a join to the cable which goes to the head unit.

Ive seen some sat navs on ebay, anyone got a picture of how they fit in. looks like they take up 2 slots?

I had this when the GPS aerial was hanging out of the back out the unit, just check it's seated properly

I would love to get behind the head unit and see if the cable is pluged in properly. The only problem is that I have not got a clue how to get the head unit out! Any ideas?

FYI "danielbarnett".

This is how they look in the M1 version, I doubt the have changed that much in the M2. They look so sexy compared to the normal head unit if you ask me. However I did see someone on here (cant remember who) who had a web site about there "Leon Cupra" and they customized a Sat Nav/Tv unit, that was the mutts nuts!

On mine there are 4 horizontal slots, 1 in each corner. Get some European headunit keys from Halfrauds. Some will say use an old chopped up credit card but it didn't work on mine, probably due to the weight of the unit.

Or if it's still under warranty get your local dealer to do it

anyone got any ideas on how to fit a MFD Seat Sat Nav unit into a Cupra dash?

my cupra came without a sat nav system brought a MFD ver G unit of Ebay with loom and GPS antanna, but dont know how to fit it in, dealers werent very helpfull, as i need the double din housing. any ideas?

i brought the car used, its on a 03 plate standard tap/cd changer and climate control unit on the dash. also brought the NAV system used of ebay, got loom and GPS antana but dont know how to fit it and what else i would need.
