My turbo is fu*ked.... it is pissin smoke out of the exhaust, it isnt idling and there is a really strong smell of oil coming from the exhaust...

is my worst thought correct that the turbo has packed in

owen

sounds like the turbo seals have shat themselves. happened to me, new cat and turbo req'd, luckily mine was recognised as a warranty replacement job.

depends.... there's other ways that oil can get into the exhaust.... I'd "hope" it was the turbo, as that's the cheaper way of fixing it.

whip the spark plugs out and see what state they're in (oily etc)

mOrk, i just had a look at my spark plugs and they look fine (dry sandy colour) so i am unsure what to do now... is there any way to make sure before i go and order an eliminator...

hope someone can help

that's a hopeful sign then (means you shouldn't have any oil in the cylinder...)

whip the turbo off & inspect it though

erm, is the best way to remove the turbo to get it on the ramps and take off the downpipe or will i need to try and move the engine forward ?

whats you opinion on the eliminator mOrk

thanks owen

if you have ramps, use them :) but you don't need to tilt the engine

not yet 'run' an eliminator, but they don't just bolt on like they say...

I saw one BT build where they'd dropped the (our) driver's side driveshaft as well (spline bolts).
