Hello forum !
Just bought an Ibiza Cupra 1.4 2014-15, 82k (km) on the clock and the car is brand new ..one previous owner .. I made a full check at the official dealer and all good .. my question is : I've read all kind of nightmare stories about the twin charged 1.4 like it was made from biscuits !! Is it really worring or just maintain your car do not thrash it and things will be fine ?
Also if there's anything I should look for or give extra attention to ? Any advice or tips are highly appreciated
PS: I already posted this twice in the wrong sections, excuse me for that
Thanks

Well if you speak to someone anywhere there is someone who hates the car you have chosen to by regardless of make or model. Due to these cars power and speed they can be thrashed a bit. But I would say it's a matter of good maintenance and do some checks b4 your out of any warranty and returns. I would look at having a compression test / oil pressure test / full service on it and a good once over of the car . There are some bad stories but as I said every car everywhere has a story like this somewhere. So get it checked over and tested and see how it is.

Thanks ..I just love the car ..it's all I want, a small sexy hatchback with a decent power punch when needed, where I live we spend all our driving life within 40-60 kmh .. you can go "wild" on the Autobahn with top limits of 120kmh so I won't drive it like I stole it anytime ..the car is well maintained untill the time I bought it all at official Seat dealer (with stamps on maintenance book) also made a visit myself and did full check and everything is perfect .. but I'm still treating it like if it was made from glass when I really should enjoy it lol
Thanks for the reply really appreciated

Seems like you have a lot of evidence. Ok would simply have a compression test done on it. Very easy to do yourself. If your doing maintenance yourself I would also do the oil, spark plug, filters egg just so you know it has been done. I think people get carried aywaynwith stamps. Anyone can stamp a book. I would prefer a paid invoice with a list or parts bought. But u can't beat doing it yourself.

Probably I need to change spark plugs and all maintained stamps are genuine ( maintenance history is registered electronically) filters are just changed and only 98 octane is been used, so let's see how it goes
