Does the engine turn over and not fire or does the engine not turn off.

when i turn the key nothing happens, the indicator light are on and there is no sound of starter.

what do you mean earth cable? the minus sign on batt? the minus should be connected to the chassis and the engine?

i went to check the "earth" connections and found out that there is 0.7ohm between the engine top and the (-) of the battery. i also clean the connections with "Kontakt" spray.

i wanted to attach a picture to illustrate the resistance i found but i don't know how to insert it to this replay.

what i did to check to see if the earth (yes the - sign) connections where a problem was:

Get your jump leads.
Attach one to the earth terminal, the other end to a solid metal part of the engine.

Atach the second one again to the earth terminal, the other end to a decent bit of the chassis.

So basically their will be your earth terminal with two jump leads attached to it, one going to the engine block, the other to the chassis.
Try starting. if it starts. it will be a problem with the earth connection somewhere.
I am not sure about the ohms thing. May just be the resistance of the cable???

IMPORTANT:
When doing it make sure the live (+) terminal is covered. make sure NOTHING comes into contact with it thats connected to to the earth terminal.
it'd be the same effect as putting a spanner across the two terminals...

Let me know how you get on

Try holding the key in the cranking position and wiggling fairly hard as the ignition switches play up

It Happend again today, after a long drive (about 45 min) i parked my car and failed to start it after 10 seconds.
i tried to start it after 1 hour and no reply.

i tried to wiggle the keys, i tried to "ground" the car like suggested and nothing.
it only happens when the engine warm, in the mornning it was fine.

i'm desperate right now  i'll go to the garage tommorow.
