what i did to check to see if the earth (yes the - sign) connections where a
problem was:
Get your jump leads.
Attach one to the earth terminal, the other end to a solid metal part of the engine.
Atach the second one again to the earth terminal, the other end to a decent bit of the chassis.
So basically their will be your earth terminal with two jump leads attached to it, one going to the engine block, the other to the chassis.
Try starting. if it starts. it will be a
problem with the earth connection somewhere.
I am not sure about the ohms thing. May just be the resistance of the cable???
IMPORTANT:
When doing it make sure the live (+) terminal is covered. make sure NOTHING comes into contact with it thats connected to to the earth terminal.
it'd be the same effect as putting a spanner across the two terminals...
