A few years bk I had a mk3 Ibiza cupra 20vt and loved it to bits until some idiot wrote it off overnight while it was parked up. Since then I've had an Audi tt 225 and now own an e60 530d which I'm selling due to the ridiculous costs of keeping it on the road.

I'm looking at buying a mk4 20vt cupra and tuning it. I'm looking at tuning it two stage 2 but is there going to be that much difference over a stage 1??

I've tried to search to find an answer to my question but havnt really found a definative answer.

I know stage 2 should get me around 220bhp but anyone know what real world performance is like say compared to a standard or stage 1 lcr 225.

Any info would be appreciated.

When mine was still relatively standard i had a run against my mates mapped lcr and he wasnt really getting away to be honest, Since then im now at stage 2 and the car seems to ruin most things that have tried it on, except superbikes haha there will always be quicker cars though but i reckon stage 2 mk4 cupra is plenty quick enough for what it is!

My stage 2 cupra does 0-100 in 14.2.
i went straight to stage 2 so not sure what stage 1 cars can do.

Stage 1 for me was 211bhp, and others on here have had Stage 2 at around 240bhp so a fairly big jump again.

I'd imagine Stage 2 would feel the same kinda difference as having a Stage 1 map on a standard car.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm really tempted to get a bezza again now but at the same time I'm also really tempted to get a LCR and stage 1 map it until I can afford the extra to get stage 2.
