Just noticed the same noise in my wifes car today, it is a 2015 Ibiza ST with 1.0 TSI (95). Please let me know if you take it to dealer of otherwise find out what is causing that.

Hi,
Just noticed the same noise in my wifes car today, it is a 2015 Ibiza ST with 1.0 TSI (95). Please let me know if you take it to dealer of otherwise find out what is causing that.
I have mine since early Dec. 'Downgrading' from a 2.0TDI Leon, I still really like it. I know space is less, I know power is less...the bad surprise was I didn't expect mpg to be that much lower as well, but it's about 4-7 mpg lower across the board, real world driving, same routes etc...Oh and mine's a SC.
I do however have the:
Black pack
Alor blue
Seat Sound System
Technology pack
Bi-Xenons
I did a LONG...review comparison elsewhere, you might be able to find it, has pics of Alor Blue Ibiza and Monsant Red Leon.
Oh and new Ibiza, nothing rattles or vibrates thus far...Leon was another story...

I've owned an FR tdi 130 ps and a 140 ps - both fast and frugal - 60+ mpg.
Now own a Cupra tsi 192 ps- vastly superior in every respect except 40+ mpg.

Average mpg reading:
Very heavy traffic in London city about 30-34 mpg
Short journey (medium traffic) in the London city about 35-40mpg...
Longer journey in the city on weekends in the morning with light traffic.42-47 mpg
Extra urban journey in 40-70mph zones...around the 50mpg mark... highest average I've had is 57mpg over 30 miles...mainly 50mph zone...
Short journey London less than 5 miles
Longer journey in city ~ 10+ miles
Car currently has 1100 miles on clock, currently on Shell Vpower. Usually branded 95 (Shell/Esso/BP), or Momentum99. I do find on Vpower and Tesco99 I get a couple mpg more on readout, haven't measured or worked out if worth extra £ paid for the extra mpg yet though. On Vpower it feels to have more go though. Or it could be that now I have 1k miles on clock and engine has loosen up.
Dropped a friend home yday in my 1.0 EcoTSI 110 DSG...He's from Australia, so used to big engines...he commented, wow this car has some power, is it turbo?
I was maybe using 50%-70% throttle...to accelerate..so not max acceleration...so I replied indeed it has, which engine size do you reckon?
He thought it was a 1.8, his jaw dropped (and remained open for a bit) when I told him it's 1.0 (or to be specific 999cc).
Engine does have some go, now it has done more than 1.2k miles on clock, running Vpower and temp ~ 12 degrees

Nice to hear.my wife's New fr tech 1.0 eco tsi dsg in white with rear tints , black pack,spare wheel and rear tailgate spoiler turns up a week on Monday can't wait to take it for a blast.didnt even test drive one.got it from a online broker brand new 16 week order only paid £12,250 absolute bargain I thought nearly 6k off list price
Take it easy first couple of hundred miles then enjoy! Put some good fuel in it too!
Also, you may find the ride a bit stiff...they tend to deliver cars with higher than recommended tyre pressures...I lowered mine by 2-3 psi each...much better and still within the recommended psi values (eg...between regular and comfort). Although if you will have 16" might be different. * ah...black pack...I guess this means 17 inch...I have these too!

Mine is due for its first service in the next 28 days, so my on board computer tells me!
The only thing I'll mention to them is the slight snatchyness on the DSG box on take up in first gear and also in second.
Other than that, not much more to report. With my old Ibiza, they always stated that they had checked for any outstanding updates etc so I'll make sure they do this for the DSG/Infotainment too.

Mine is now at 12k kilometeres. I've already done the first service, it was noticeably quiter after the service. The only flaw i have is the rear brakes that squeek when i go in reverse. Guys in the shop said everything was fine, but i will revisit, since it is not stopping.
Average consumption for me is 6,3L/100km (45mpg), and the lowest i got was 5L/100km (56,5mpg) over the distance of 350km, when i was driving to vacation. Still impressed with the engine every day.

I'm on 6000 miles so far, the engine would benefit from being a little quieter so hopefully I notice that too. Now that you mention it I have heard a tapping/knocking sound from what could be the rear shocks or something around the boot area when coming to a complete stop from cold. It only happens when I stop for the first time after starting the engine cold. Weird. I might mention it though.
Any recommendations on what's best way with stop start for the smoothest pull off.is it the same as my Merc blip throttle to start engine and engage gear then smooth press on the throttle

I ran V-Power in mine since I bought it but for the last couple of months over winter it's had anything chucked in it such as ASDA, Tesco, SAINSBURYS, Jet etc...
I only thought last week how it's sounding a bit more gruff than usual and much like a typical 3Cylinder engine.
I treated it to some V-Power again on Saturday. The drive to work this morning I really noticed how smooth and quiet the car was! The engine noise is definitely nowhere near as harsh as it was. Much better, sounding like my old 1.2TSI now.
As of yet, no marked increase in MPG or power. Maybe too early in the tank for that. However I don't expect to see any power increase.
Just thought I'd share!

I've had mine for a few months and have only put V power petrol in my 1.2 TSI FR. I've never been sure of the power increase for v power. There is a smoothness to engine running, so when your gearing up to say 30 or 40. The engine should do run more smoothly.
I noticed when putting V power in my older diesel TDI Ibiza , it activate the cooling fan and the car would kick into instant DPF regeneration mode. After a run on the motorway or anything over 40. Which did make the diesel car do its job. The fan would clear after 5 minutes.

Do you mean like in a manual dropping the clutch too quickly judder type of way? If yes, yup, have that too, but if I rev gently don't have that...mostly in D1, sometimes D2.
