Hi guys, new here, and unfortunately is seeking some advice, recently bought my cupra, but being a div never took it for a meaningfull test drive, as its slammed on its hoop, and the area was full of speed bumps, anyway, the car wont rev over 3500, somtimes wont even get to that, kangaroos alot, code read it, says o2 sensors are malfunctioning, have replaced post cat, (pre cat on order) and since fitting does seem a little better, but still very hesitant going past 2500, im just hoping once pre cat lamda fitted it will cure it, but i dunno, i just didnt think o2 sensors would make an engine do that?

if anyone could advise :)

Thanks.

Lee

ok, thanks ill try that 100% thought it would however show up as a misfire but nothing lol

would this effect the turbo, ive never owned a turbo car before, so not sure if it works or doesnt work if that makes sense, i bought a 007 DV as recomended by a friend, but doesnt even make any kinda noise as i thought it would lol, am gutted :(

well your only getting to 2500rpm, and im guessing the car wont get to full load either, so the turbo wont be on full load either, so will be minimal boost pressure built up. once running properly your 007p will deffinately make some noise ;) im running mine with a FMIC, standard map, DV Relocated to cold side, flipped upside down, bonnet sound proofing removed, and its pretty damn loud !!

What codes are you getting?
If its Missfiring you will get lambda codes as the fuel isn't being burnt efficiently
I'd suggest a full set of coilpacks and plugs as these aren't expensive but buy genuine packs as patent ones have a reputation of failing

its not misfiring up until 3 3500 rpm, but not sure if it is actually a missfire or its just spluttering? seems like it want to go higher but it doesnt. codes were o2 sensor 1 and 2, and secondary air circulation flow, ive changed post cat, waiting on pre cat coming, its ordered, but ill also change plugs and coil packs too, least i can eliminate them

no lights coming on, probably due to the fact that previous owner removed the bulb. was 2000 pounds well spent i think lol after relacing post cat, only code in it is secondary air code, im refusing to drive it just now, as dont want to hurt it, i think this guy has sold me a turkey :(

Could be map sensor or cool packs starting to die under load when my cool pack went I got 7psi max but if you've got a cat dont give it some heavy foot action for long as it will kill it Hope it gets sorted when there running good they are bloody fun and are fast or very fast for what they are mines only 210bhp but sticks to most silly things around :)

quick update, changed all four coil packs, along with spark plugs, but alas, no different, code read shows o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1, so assuming this is indeed the problem, although hoped it would have been here today, but never showed, but 200 queen heads well spent lol

Pre cat lambda will solve it mate mine was the same I changed plugs coils maf and then lambda and it's been fine apart from my cv giving up since
