Ibiza Starting Problem

Went to start the Ibiza the other day (mk2 1.8 16v) and it fires up and then just dies and am trying to figure out whats causing it is it the Coil pack a relay or the alarm/immobiliser

Has anyone got a wiring diagram that shows the relays and which is which or am I barking up the wrong tree?

if it's firing up then dying it sounds like immobiliser to be honest

chances are as Flap says its immob related.. how long has it been stood? petrol not stale?

Mine was doing this today. Start and the die. Cleaned the dizzy and its fine now. Worth a try.

if you got someone with a mk2 golf/same car, as to try their coil pack first!
sounds like a close to dying coil pack!
like krishen said, check the dizzy first

well its done it off on for a few days finally went at a local Sainsburys i went to see if i could get it going as mrs was driving it and after alot of swearing and messin I got it going but then once it was home it would not start again changed the batteries in the remote no joy i will try the dizzy tomorrow and then the coilpack if its the alarm thats gonna get expensive

that sounds just like when my coil pack went to be fair!
started to get me home, then stopped and wouldn't start again!

sorry for the late reply my net was down.

went to a scrappy and got a coilpack and decent earth cable got home stuck it on and it fired so thanks for the advice.

it looks like it had water getting into it and there was a nice crack accross the one side of it.
