temperature fault is common, apparently the sensor is £20 and requires resoldering in the passenger wing mirror.

Welcome by the way

You can fit an after market head unit, or go down the route a few people have, and send the stereo fascia off to a company in spain who cut out the tape section of the unit, which allows a DIN sized unit to fit in its place.

Are you telling me that Mk3 Ibiza's don't have stereo's?

They have them built into the dash, with changers in the boot. Or just cassette.

My temperature sensor was playing up the other day, and then it fixed itself

I wouldnt recomend putting a head unit in the car. As i've just got a Cupra with full sound system professionaly installed off the standard unit and it sounds amazing. Much better than my install in my last car. (Which used Sony head unit) I think the standard head unit is really good in terms of sound quality.

Well i didnt fit it but, i can tell you that it has JBL components and JBL tweaters in the doors, JBL 6x9's in a stealth shelf, a 12" sub in the boot and BASS & GAIN control knobs in the glovebox all powered off of a massive JBL amp.

I have recipts so i can tell you who done the install if you like?

I do know that there are some thingys wired to the back of the head unit to allow all this to work but i dont know what they are.

The car just looks stock (unless you open the boot) but sounds awsome, and all the BASS TREBLE FADE and BALANCE controls on the standard unit still work too! :)

Ok this is what i know:

TRILOGY Auto Security & HiFi Systems
Cheshire

Tel 0161 303 9818
Mob 07711 079779

Supply & Fit JBL GTO 936 6x9 speakers and recover shelf £120
Supply & Fit JBL GTO 650 6CE Component Speakers £135
Supply & Fit 2x PCI-610 Level Controllers
1x PC4-60 Amp Wiring Kit
1x PCI-616 Remote Amp Volume Kit
1x PC5-08 Multiply Connector £200

Unfortunatly i dont have a recipt for supply or fitment of the SUB or AMP, but if you want to know the model numbers then i can go have a look in the car. You have to have the right amp is it has a million inputs for all the different stuff from the head unit, ie FADE BALANCE etc etc.

u can put a head unit under the std one as you have a little hole where u can put thing in(if u know where i mean) i was going to put it in there and get it reshapped but now i'v smashed my side of my car i'll have to wait. i could have got it put in and reshapped for about £100/£120 just for the head unit. as far as every1 said u cant take the old one out as the air con runs though it all.

I paid about £150 to uprate all the speakers in my cupra and it sounds really good now... The headunit does seem to give some good power with the right set of speakers :)

Yes but you will either have to put it under the steering wheel (where the drivers knees are) or in the glove box.

I cant do that to an 8 grand car surely! Thanks any way tho someone had suggested that at a local ICE store and I thought he was joking at first!

Shifty-shifty, that's very similar to my set up too! :D

All my stereo runs off the standard headunit, just got componets up front, the crossovers are hidden behind the door cards, pioneer replacement speaks in the rear, Sony 6 Disc Changer in the boot, with an amp and 2 Pioneer 12" subs. Sounds great! :D

My brother was an ICE installer for a big manchester based company, so he did it all. You can't get a signal from the original headunit to go the amp, so he used some converters that go from the rear speakers that turns into an RCA. :)
