Have you been to see that car yet then?
Not yet... Had the exhaust go on our Rav4 so been trying to find a front section/Centre box for it.. Turns out its a dealer only part as no after market manufacturer's make them yet.... Cost of the part alone is 980 quid inc VAT It has a cat converter in it .... Bugger !!!
So will ring about the car tomorrow ..

Take it to a decent exhaust place and they'll make and fit a whole exhaust in stainless steel for half that price mate!

Looking at that option.. Some stainless systems can be a bit noisy in comparison to standard though...

Mate the standard front section which incorporates the oxidisation catylytic converter is a Dealer only part.. It is not possible to get one in the after market sector as no one yet makes one or a repair kit which would consist of juts the resonator box and sleeves to fit it.. Retail cost of said part is 1160 quid or 980 with a bit of discount !!!!
I can buy a brand new 50 inch plasma telly and a nice new IPad for less !!!!

You know that a cat is not required on a diesel, don't you...? all you need is a straight through section making up. A good exhaust place (not somewhere like kwik fit who just sell what they buy in) can build you a section from pipe and bend it to suit, add connection flanges at either end, weld it all up, and fit it for way less than the money you've been quoted. They may even be able to fit an oxidation cat in there for you if you want. Personally, I wouldn't bother though.

Mate the car has the complicated Dcat system.. It is the T180 variant that differs from the standard 2.2 diesel car.. It has Lamda sensors that will trigger the VSC on the dash if the cat was to be removed..
Its the price we have to pay to save the planet.... Yerrrr Right...:D
