Installation of Aux and USB

My Ibiza only has a AUX near the hazard warning light. During this lockdown, I found my son's old iPod and so connect this on the aux. Unsatisfied, I did some investigation and saw a lot of old Aux with USB Ibiza parts on eBay. I was hoping the iPod can be displayed on the stereo and be controlled next to the steering. However, after researching, there isn't much information on owners retro fit this.

Is this a lost cause? Or are there any alternatives? Further has any one fitted one of these iPod holder in their cars? Thanks!

The MDI interface (USB + 3.5 jack) on my SEATs was a malfunctioning piece of junk from the factory.

Lightning connector Apple products were a pain in particular.

It's not worth the effort.

I just use the USB to charge the iPod and connect it for playback with Bluetooth.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately my iPod don't have Bluetooth... Probably need to buy a new car soon, Lol!

I brought the above SEAT iPod holder for £1 on eBay. Wow! It's really good as the sound quality is proper. Unfortunately I can't use the steering controls or charge it as I don't have usb. However, I m happy as I can now play the iPod.
