Hi, I think I have this in the right section, sorry if not.

I bought a universal backbox off eBay and I want to fit it myself but I have no idea how to go about doing this.

I drive a 2003 Seat Ibiza 1.2

If someone can help me and maybe include some pictures I'd appreciate it.

If you need more information just let me know.

Thanks in advance :D

If the exhaust it one piece from the cat back like on the different engine Ibiza's, you will need to cut the standard exhaust and have the new backbox welded on.

Just had mine put on last week, if it universal its more than likely guna be a case of cutting the atandard backbox off and eaither using exhaust bracekts/clips (cnt remember the actual name) or having it welded on.

Welding will make it harder to get off if ur selling car etc as brackets are easy to swap and change

sorry to steal the thread but does anybody know if the polo 9n 1.2 exhaust fit as i an get my hands on a stainless one off a mate its goin onto a 1.2 6L

I'd try to help but clearly I have no idea what I'm doing haha. I'm thinking of taking a mechanics course or something so i don't sound like a complete idiot :p

usually, universal exhausts require some kind of welding toi fit but its hard to tell without seeing. i put a FR 20vT cat back on my 1.2 & used a reducer pipe to bridge the gap in pipe diameter.
and a polo 9n is an ibiza 6l underneath so yes that exhaust will fit
:)

maybe take it to a custom exhaust place and see if they can fit it, shouldnt cost to much

I just might do that to be honest, I don't have access to a welder
