Didn't AMD do a chip for the 8v? Didn't know they did a 16v and goin by the 1986 (guessing its the year) it sounds like more for the Mk2 Golf 1.8 16v GTi

most IC chips etc have an indent at one end to denote the orientation but to be honest i would be 110% it's right first

the lettering seems to be back up as a standard reprogrammable chip but where did you get it ?
