Instrument lights failing

Have a 97 p reg alhambra tdi a few weeks ago the rev and petrol gauge light went off i flicked it and it came back on and has since failed again but now the speedo and fuel gauge ones are going dim all the other dash lights are ok and the clocks fine.

what could it be is it as simple as changing bulb any help please

Hi.
To change bulbs
Drop steering wheel down to lowest setting to gain some room behind it.
Remove two screws from top of plastic cowling around the instument cluster and carefully wiggle this out of position ( there are two clips at bottom that require gently prizing up as you pull cowlin out).
Then remove the screws (2) either side of instrument cluster housing and pull this out carefully.
Remove the two cables plugged into cluster and then check the bulbs.
All the bulbs are of the "twist to remove" type.
I had two bulbs go on mine and entire display went dark so I believe that's what your problem is.
To replace just do revers of removal.
