Hi peeps,

I've just renewed my insurance and declared an induction kit, I'm happy with the price.

However, I'm planning on going to stage2 with a TBE in the next year, so out of curiosity i asked for a quote on a stage1 modified Leon that would take it to about 300bhp.

The price was double that of what I'm currently paying. Does this sound right? What kind of difference are you guys paying from when your car was stock to then re-mapped?

try specialist modified insurers like adrian flux etc

my previous company wanted to charge to £1000+ to insure a stage 2 mk1 LCR adrian flux was less than £500

Not sure if it's against the rules on here to name the company I'm with, but I'm with a company that is well known on here.

Less than £500 for stage 2 is brilliant, they quoted me "About the £640 mark" for stage 1 alone.

I wont be doing anything until next year anyway, but if that's a taster of that's to come I was considering not doing anything to the car. So i should be looking at around £400-£500

Adrian Flux aren't all that. In fact I wouldn't deal with them ever again.

Greenlight were almost £1k cheaper on my Stage 2+ Golf R than Adrian Flux. That's right £1k!!
On my previous Stage 2+ Cupra Greenlight would have been £300 cheaper than Adrian Flux...

I've heard good things about Sky Insurance too.

Jesus, a thousand quid?! That's astonishing. The most I've ever saved by changing is £250!

Insurance is a postcode lottery I'm afraid , you can't go by how much certain member have saved unless they live in the same area as you.
For instance my Cupra modified in London is £540 if I insure it at my girlfriends in Nottingham it's £320 !
No other change except location and postcode !

Good point Rob. I know a friend that couldn't even get a quote from Greenlight due to the area they live in.

I know they exclusions on certain, targeted vehicles - but that is what keeps their prices down.

Not a leon Cupra I know... But IF I lived in Liverpool permanently and changed my registered address to there, I would be paying 3x the price. So my insurance would be £2400 not the £833 I pay now...

Need to Insure were the best price for me. Paying £640 fully comp on a heavily modified Cupra in Liv :)
Greenlight would not quote for postcode as above. Policy is motorsport one from Aviva. Limited to 5K per yer mileage but it's more than enough for me.
