**** off mate.. You really think I was serious??

Either way, it's a stupid comment, which you followed up, at no point saying you were not 'serious' if you weren't, and it was all a big joke, then, ha ha. My mistake. However the person posing the question seems to think your suggestion was serious. So maybe you better enlighten him too. :D

I looked mate 150 quid so the money i save is spent on the short term insurance. But im planning on keeping thr car a while so if i do it once now itll help me out next year and years to come so it is an option. Or i dunno if my current insurers can give me an extra couple days extension that might be a thing

So getting back to the topic... how about i renew it for a month then cancel and pay the 50 quid cancellation fee and then start a new one?

If the numbers work in your favour, then go for it. Just make very sure there won't be any other costs involved.

All insurance companies have a 14 day cooling off period where you can cancel free of charge

Getting back to the original, original topic, best quote so far Aviva £350. I suspect that the accident I had last year, even though it was non fault and expenses were recovered, I'm still getting shafted. That, and living in an NE2 post code, is pushing the premium up.

Out of curiosity due to this thread i checked my insurance renewal cost and its either the same 800 or more. From what i remember i think last year confused.com had a sale on so this may explain why it was so cheap back then but kinda has come back to bite me now. Also my insurance runs out 10 days before i turn 21 and i checked if i waited that 10 days it would save me 150 quid! Any advise/help?

You could always go for a short term gap insurance that will cost you a lot less than £150 lots of insurers offer short term insurance

Whoa that's a bit steep I was quoted £60 quid on a comparison site for a similar period as there was a 10 day gap between my old car insurance running out and my new one being delivered but it turned up early
