Anybody have an idiots guide to replacing the interior bulbs?

I want to change the main 3 bulbs directly above your dash and the two bulbs either side of the rear doors.

Any idea how to do this without getting screw driver dents??

Also what bulbs fit each light?

I want nice clear white bulbs, instead of the yellow.

Cheers.

front lights:

pull the "glass" from the front just using your nails.... it will just come loose... i didnt have to give it much force.

Bulbs: 2 x 501 Wedge
1 x 39mm Festoon (was a bit small so id actually get 42mm)

Rears:

looking at them from the rear... get a flat blade and put it under the edge facing the front. all i did was twist the screw driver and it gave me a little room... then put the flat blade in the middle and push. theres a metal tab you need to press in and it falls out of the roof.

Bulbs: 1 x T5 Neo Wedge (each side)

*you WILL need to trim the after market ones as they dont fit very well... i had to glue them in place aswel as the movement of the car caused them to fall out*

hope that helps bud.

no worries mate. after loads of searching i found that list in the FAQ section.

final one from me...

i said the rear bulbs will need trimming:

NeoWedge.jpg

The lip represented by the green line needs to be cut straight down or as near flush with the inner part as possible. This is easily done with a sharp Stanley blade or craft knife.
The lug represented by the red line needs a little trimmed off vertically so it can also fit into the circuit board holder. Now do this little by little so it just fits in as once in you can't really turn to lock them like the originals. However as long as it's a tight fit and the little bits of wire make contact with either side of the board then the light will come on. I also used a little electrician tape to hold them in firm.
Don't forget if they don't light up first time they need to be taken out and turned 180 degrees. Then try again. Remember don't take too much material off on the vertical cut has I had one side looser than the other.
The green line lip can be cut flush as with this it doesn't even fit in the board, or it didn't on mine.

Just so you have all the info in one place, and anyone searching in the future.

Hey guys, just changed my interior lights. Unfortunately i've now blown 3 fuses, for some reason whenever all 3 of the interior lights (rearview mirrow light and the two over the back doors) are on, the fuse blows. I think it's the back right light that is doing it, however when it is on by itself, it doesnt blow, but when it goes on with the other ones, the fuse blows. Anyone have any idea??

Thanks

Oh, forgot to say, all the new bulbs are Festoon LED's, the old halogen bulbs worked fine when all 3 were on.
