Right, i got the ipod connection thing, usb and aux. i have plugged in the USB, using the ipod's charger lead which you use to charge through computer and putting music on the ipod, and i bought a aux cable, 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm, plug them both in... try play ze music and it comes up with 'no device' any ideas on the problem? maybe techie might have the know on this.

Yeah, you do need an adaptor, they failed to tell me that even after I told them I have an iphone. It's about £65 -70 if I remember correctly.

yeah get the ipod cradle, it wont work seperatly otherwise. When i first bought my ipod cradle i had a lot of trouble with it and tried what you did and it didnt work apart from the 3.5 mm jack. Long story short the guy said it was the type of music i listen too but when i asked for a replacement a few weeks later it worked. Idiots.

So yeah get that and it'll sit nicely in the centre and charge your ipod too, cost me £75.
Which they never told you about when you ask for the ipod/aux to be factory fitted..stealers.

then its the 'oh you have to buy that, come back for it they're £75' great. MORE money.

It's iPod preperation, same as phone preperation doesn't mean you get the cradle for it just means the control unit and wiring are all in place. Different cradles for different applications. None of our salesmen realised when they first came out and have asked me in the past to fit the cradles on cars that don't have the prep from factory lol

Should be getting my new car on Friday. When I asked for this as an added extra tried to get it thrown in for free. The guy told me I need the extra bit and said he would throw it in for free if I did the ipod bit. As I believe it when both parts are used you can control the ipod from the steering controls.

I complained to the stealers, all I got was "sorry I didn't mention it, but it's still £75 if you want it"
I've gone down the route of putting my music on a USB key and playing from that, took a little time to transfer the music, burning it to CD then ripping it to MP3 (gets around the DRM on purchased music [B)] ) and to be honest I now prefer it. I can leave the key plugged in, it's not on show and easily replaceable.

Has anybody used the ipod icelink with the ibiza? I've had one in my Leon from new and only drawback is the song info isn't show the radio display. Not sure whether to get the denison 100 link on the ibiza I'm waiting to pick up (didn't go for the usb option when getting the car which maybe a mistake!!).

I've just put a Denison 100 in mine... there are many different codes, GW16V21 is the one I went for.
After fitting it read the instructions which have a nice picture of the SE-250 headunit.

It displays the song name and lets you browse using the headunit.

Things I'm not sure about:
- If it will shuffle through Albums rather than songs
- how long it takes before it turns off (I'd rather a flat IPOD battery than car battery ;-))
- if the steering wheel controls work (didn't try)

Overall it works out the box, but it'll be interesting how I feel after a long journey.

Thanks for the info, not sure if the Denison will work for me. I've picked up my Ibiza and I've been told by the dealer that as I've got the factory fitted bluetooth this takes the connector that would be used by the ipod link. It's just not the same using the Aux after having the ipod icelink on my leon. :(

I looked into it but couldn't find parts info. But looking at similar parts for Leon the control unit is going to be over £300.
