ipod/ice link problems, please help

I have just bought a brand new 6th gen. ipod and dension ice link plus for mk3 ibiza cupra. None of the cd changer controls or the controls on the ipod work although the ipod does say its connected etc. I have tried updating, resetting etc etc my ipod and ice link (ice link doesn't seem to do much) and still no joy. Anyone know a solution to this or had any similar problems? All ideas appreciated.

Have you Google'd whether the Ice link is compatible with 6th gen Ipod's??

hold in number 6, and go through the menus and make sure you select to use the icelink interface and not the ipod interface

Tried holding no.6, it does nothing on the ipod, just works the head unit controls still.

Have also searched for compatibility but not able to find any useful info. Getting quite annoyed now!
