Is it 'cos I is white?

I have a white Leon (as you can see from my sig/profile photo), and I have noticed a curious thing about other people's behavior on the motorway since getting this car. If I am driving fast (but less than 70mph +10% +2mph) in the outside lane, usually with lights on (due to the auto headlights), some people seem to slow down and pull over as I approach. I've never had this happen before in any of my previous cars (if anything people would try and block or speed up when being overtaken).

Do people think I'm police? It's not like a Leon FR is standard police issue. Does this happen to other white car drivers?

Snap! I often get the same thing. I do wonder if a white car approaching rapidly does make other drivers think "copper" or "paramedic"...

Use to happen to me years ago in my "navy" blue astra, all the lads down the boozer named it COP CAR after a while. Motorway wasn't really an issue but around the mean streets of Sheffield there wasn't a week go by without cars obviously slowing when spotting me.

I have noticed this in the gf's candy white Ibiza ecomotive.

White seems to noticed more by lane hoggers.

I wouldn't say it's because you're in a white car, I would say it's because you're coming up fast behind them so they are letting you past. If I'm in the outside lane ever and a car comes up behind me I will do the right thing and move over as soon as possible to let them past.

Good for you. However, a lot of people don't. I never noticed it happening with my previous cars.

It is a white car thing. I don't have one but if I see one in my mirror I instantly look at my speedo. Just an instant reaction

Opposite seems to happen to me. They must look at the car and automatically think I want a race... Pull out of the middle lane when I go past and come zooming up my arse ( Usually BMW drivers) . Until I prod my right foot and they wish they hadn't of bothered
