Since the 2025 model the headunits have been upgraded, the UI is new and smoother.

It looks very close to the ones in the new ID3 neo and the Cupra Raval. They say these units are fully android based.
The Cupra Raval even has a Spotify and Youtube app.

I asked my dealer if these apps will be made available for my 2026 model since I though that the internals of these headunits are the same (just some slight UI tweaks). But he said (in an e-mail) that the currnet headunits of seat are not the same as the Raval, they are not android based so these apps will not be made available for the Seat models.

This however is exactly what ChatGPT said (almost word for word) when I asked it this question. But it did give wrong sources for this "conclusion" so I am now doubting that my dealer gave me correct information.

Does anyone know if these nes Seat headunits are actually android based just like the new VW's and Cupra's? It would be madness for Seat to keep another software base alive if all the new models are transfered?

I'm building a thread here on the 2026 models:

Everything you wished or didn't wish to know about what's coming  .

I'll edit in on this process of discovery. It's "AAOS non GAS" is what the new head is. Basically Android Automotive OS less Google Services. It's the same route that BMW took.

Pictures of their test bed in post 2.

Post 3 the BMW implementation. That's the one to look at in a taxonomical approach. Shares the same branch.

What you have is the old Linux programmed systems not AAOS. Mib3 had a difficult birth. I use to say I'm skipping mib4 and going for mib5... now it's AAOS without GAS. VAG call it One.Infotainment although that might by a working title. We'll see.
