Somewhat nervous to be honest about this.

Car is lowered, has various engine upgrades, full exhaust including race cat.
I'm also a lil nervous as the car is running slightly streched rubber...

Any1 had issues with this? Its first MOT since owning the car, so dont wanna be too surprised.

Thanks guys,

Andy.

Mine failed on silly things last year. Wipers and seat belts were the most pointless ones but the rear brakes were binding so it was a fail.

This year it was all sweet.

well you shouldn't need to worry about the exhaust...sports cats sail through the MOT

Mine failed last time because I forgot to change my number plates over!

Emissions would have been the only thing that i'd worry about - but if Jimyu says its OK then all good :D

What were your number plates that it failed on?

Blueflame have assured me that even their 100cell cat is MOT/emissions safe so you should be ok there. Not sure about the stretched tyres though. Might be worth calling a random MOT station and asking them. Lowering shouldnt be a problem either as mines as low as i'd want to go and it sails through every time.

Sorry to hijack the thread...but my MOT is also looming, and my drivers window is tempremental! It don't always come down when pressing the button...there's a kind of 'knack' to doing it.

MOT is safety issues right? So whether my front windows work or not is beside the point and the car won't be checked on this?

What's the reason to why it fails for being too low?

Your car looks like its on 17's???? They look huge anyway, so my car being on 16's and on coil overs probably sits lower than yours right? So you mean to say i've gotta adjust each coil over just get it through the MOT?

Not getting your finger between tyre and arch is total rubbish . out of all the cars ive owned i have never failed on that !!!!!!!

The only fail you can have for being to low is if it wont get on the ramps or scrapes up then they will fail you.

I hope you keep getting it laser aligned and tracked after you keep winding it up and down!

That what i thought mate but they basically failed it on tht and cos it was to low on full lock it could nearly touch anti roll bar, i think they wer just being arsey they even put in my addvisrory "dint in drivers side door" it the size of a pea not sharp or no rust so why would they put it? But hey it passed now! Hows the vw goin? looks well smart mate
