Lol i dont imagine there is a misfire map in the ecu :p

Yes i spoke to them and the remapping guru advised that colder plugs and seat/ vws updates should sort it, but to change plugs sooner than vw would because they would happily leave them in as long as they can.

My map from Jabba, never happened anywhere else

Revo have told me that the new seat software still wont solve the problem although its getting better. Also revo have re written specific parameters at which misfires occur. They told me the seat plugs which arecolder are better but will still deteriorate early because the extra fueling of a remap will impair the electrode of the spark plug and can even put it out. Thats why the plug they use is about 1cm shorter

Sorry mate not sure what you mean? Not sure if your trying to say, like many others, im stupid for getting car mapped there?
Jay

I don't think he is matey.

Remember opinions are like ar$eholes, everyones got one (not saying anyone is one!!!!!). If no-one was to try something we as a community might miss something special so just do what makes you happy :)

I look forward to the Jabba result as it's not too far from me and they did very well tuning the old Fabia vRS

Not sure what @Andyf means, but perhaps he'll explain. ;)

The way I see it is pretty-much as @VRSLOZ does - everybody's got a right to have an opinion, some opinions may be better than others. That's what forums are all about - an exchange of advice, ideas and opinions. Some of the information might be pants, some might be gold, but hey, no one needs to take any notice of the stuff they don't like or agree with.

For what it's worth, I applaud you for doing something different and I hope it gets you a great result. :)

I agree with the Opinon comments guys.

I would like to know what you mean though Andyf please :)

Adam its a shame about the bad timing your car decided to have a break down :(

Looking forward to going down on Friday to see them finish off the final stages of the map, going to hang around down there over the weekend too, give it a good drive about see if I like it(I cant imagine I wont!) and make sure everything is in good running order.

But the shorter plug may suffer ceramic damage.

I understand the plugs there recommending are NGK Iridium plugs? When i looked at going for these NGK told me they would not recommend using them.

However I trust Revo, I have had many maps from them and there one of the best companies for testing maps and developing them over a period of time.

Leaves me having mixed views on what is right, but now as I don’t have the Boca anymore I will leave it you guys to find out :p

REVO and SEAT should work together to solve this, SEAT pays REVO for the fix and we costumers getting free remaps

Will be good to see what you think of it? have you driven another mapped car to compair? for example a Revo or ***** Racing

Not driven another remapped Cupra no. Any volunteers? to take me for a passenger ride even in yorkshire tonight

I dont think many people try many different maps, Usually the remap is better than original so they would never change unless something went wrong, but It would be good to compare.

I will also be putting the car on "my" own rolling road (RS Tuning in leeds- Used them plenty with the fiesta) they do there own maps as well as REVO's so if there are many differences they will be able to tell me about them. Not sure what dyno Jabba use, its called an A.D.S (Advanced Dyno System) but will have it on RST's DynoDynamics as well at somepoint to get a good range of what the power is. I was going to RR'd it with them before I went down too so I had RST's before and afters but it would end up a bit expensive, so long as the car drives well and doesnt blow up I will be happy.

Ye big hats off to ya. mine is in today at SEAT for its eml. when it should be at jabba !! :p

Well you were going to have the balls to do it as well- so good on you as well. Just unfourtunate for you I guess =/

You've said before your still experiencing misfires, have you got revo's updated software that they say fixes them? if your getting misfires still(maybe less but still misfires) then its not worked 100%? Not trying to put you or revo down I would of went with them had this offer not came up. Since my Emmisons light flashed up once and I had the injectors, sparks,HT Leads,Coil pack ect changed I've not suffered any misfires even after holding revs (say on a motorway then mashing my foot to the floor) that I belive is one was of getting the missfires?

Well got it back this morning with new spark plugs and an engine update. Had the balls yes but also, like you, had **** loads of doubts in my head. Hope it all goes smoothly for ya pal

My post wasn't meant to indicate my opinion of Jabba, I really couldn't comment on their maps or workmanship as I have not used them before. I only posted it to show what happened when I went there for a RR day.

Like you I did not use Revo for my map, even though everyone raved about them (plus they couldn't do it anyway  ) and I couldn't be happier.

Since i went down I've been fine with then, Just up till then you dont know whats going on really. Kevin, the mapper has kept me up to data constantly and answered all my queries and questions. He did some more little tweaks today and is all but done now, guna pick it up tomorrow and have some fun over the weekend.

211bhp and 205ft/lb are the figures I've got from them.

You'll need to change your sig then. Those are similar figures to mine at a basic stage 1 tune with Revo.

TBH i wouldn't trust revo too much, they are just a small company saying they have solved a problem.

I cannot believe they would solve this quicker than SEAT themselves, considering they have less resources and less knowledge than seat!
