Not about the attempted theft of a car while the occupant is still inside but something more mundane namely the raising of the vehicle using a trolley jack.
I haven't got a standard jack as I got the inflator kit instead of the spare wheel. I want to take the wheels off for to clean them and the brakes. I have a trolley jack but don't know where to position it. If anyone knows or have some pictures i'd be most gratefull.
thanks in advance

The Leon jack has a groove (which is the same as the Golf mk5 one), if you feel under the car you will feel a ridge.

Ridge --> Groove ;)

Thanks for the reply.
If I find the jacking points for seat jack do I just put my trolley jack onto there and lift. i know its souns a bit stupid but on a nother car where the jacking point had a slot in the sill area to locate the jack, I tried using a trolley jack and ended up creasing the slot :doh:

I've just done this today. Put a coat of clear laquer on the hubs and calipers.

be VERY careful using a trolly jack on the jacking points. If yours has a 'cup' top this will bend the metal where the jacking point is when you try to jack up the car. Especially at the front Luckily I noticed this before I bent it too much and used a bit of wood between the cup and sill to spread the load. The oem jack has a long section that spreads the load. Hopefully I've described that clearly!

I take it you dont have a normal jack in the boot and are using a trolley jack which u roll under the car?

If so there are trolley jacking points. which look like this. I think its the round bit of metal. (Ignore the arrows, pic was taken for another post)

Be careful not to damage it, as this was the cause of my rattle till it got fixed by Seat.

Aahhhh, they're the trolly jacking points are they. Says nowt about it in the manual (unless I've missed it) just mentions the oem jack jacking points.

I did notice the those bits in XEs photo and wondered if it would be safe but was a little concerned I would put the jack through the floor. Looked at the manual which was as much use as a fart in a space suit and decided to use the ones that are arrowed. Just glad I used the wood to spread the load. Oh well I'll know next time. :)

Can someone confirm the place where to jack up the front with trolley jack?

I just do it at the jacking point according to the manual, my trolley jack as a flat top.
