I Like seeing people taking care in there car and it rushing things, looks like a nice clean car, I was a honda man before I brought my leon, had 5 turbo ones and a ep3 too, there nothing like revving to 8500rpm and hearing it scream lo

Thanks a lot mate

Like you say nothing compares to a high revving K20 type R lump, especially the sound of a boosted one at 8500 rpm's

I need to sort fuel pump internals out now and then I'm going to book in at ****** for a map.... Hopefully within another months time it'll all be sorted.

You've had a few turbo'd Hondas mate, I wouldn't mind a turbo'd EK as a weekend toy.

I definitely wanna own a DC5 some day.

I was bored after work today so decided to use the Magmashield heat wrap tape on my Neuspeed P-Flo intake

I was going to get a revo intake or evoms before I get mapped by ******...... However I don't think I'll bother now.... I've got a heatshield for the filter made up that just needs fitting and the Intakes now heat wrapped with this stuff so it should work well.

The noise it makes also sounds great

Booked in at R-t.e.c.h for stage 2 + (ish) on the 23 rd of July

Mods to be mapped in-

3" de-cat down pipe
Neuspeed P-Flo intake
Autotech fuel pump internals (still need to get these but I've got plenty of time now)

Can't bloody wait to get mapped, that's the earliest slot I could get so it shows there busy!!

Yeah it just cracks off and you can screw the oil cap down nice and flush with the rocker cover.

I did mine and it was a bit odd, it doesn't feel like its going to go but it will, I would get the engine nice and hot first.

Theres a few guides around online, have a quick google and they should be easy to find.

Put a small rag into the filler first to stop any broken plastic or glue going down into the engine.

Oh right thanks for that mate.

I'll get that sorted over the weekend.

Cheers

Just realised your the guy with the mk1 golf with cupra TFSI lump..... Awesome project mate!

jreedy, I have a similar spec to yours at the mo, except I haven't got any suspension mods (yet) and I have a 3" turbo back decat straight-through exhaust with just a teeny silencer on the back :) I'm surprised you thought your original exhaust set up sounded boomy as I love mine - quiet low revs and gives a real nice clean rasp at 2250rpm.

Anyways, I was wondering about two things: you said you're getting a shield made up for your p-flow - can I ask where you got it as I'd like to get something around mine.

Second point, where'd you get the rear wiper delete from?? Been looking everywhere for the proper rubber gromet!

Third point - really for your benefit - I've recently taken off the filler neck and it's so much nicer with it off. Do it with a warm engine and get some massive mole grips and squeeze the plastic all the way round. You'll hear some cracking noises as the glue comes away and then you can just pull the thing off. Make sure you clean off all the residue glue though.

I'm hoping to get a Revo 2 this year, then saving up for a full Loba HPFP and then 2+ remap to follow. Should be the dogs!!!!

CpcPeter-

Hello mate, I made the heat-shield up that I will be putting on at work, however it's made from 1.5mm sheet metal so I'm in 2 minds weather or not to use it.

The other idea I have is to buy one off of eBay.... There's a Tfsi induction kit on eBay that comes with a heat shield for the filter... I messaged the seller to see if he could supply me with just the filter heat shield, he replied back to say yes for £40 iirc.

I'll give you a link to the seller/traders intake etc if you like, I'm gonna go ahead and fit the one I made up at work over the weekend (all being well) . If it looks ok I'll keep it on.

as for the rubber bung I have on the rear window for the wiper delete..... I got a pack of assorted sized rubber grommets from halfords..... I think it's 22mm but I'll have to check the one I used. I have a spare one if you want me to send it you mate (you can have it free)

As for the exhaust, I just didn't like the noise the cobra made for so a reason. I'll probably end up buying a milltek if a used one come up for a good price. I love how the oem cat back sounds with the 3" de-cat down pipe.

I'm going to go for the autotech HPFP internals, you can't go wrong with the loba though.

I was originally going to use Statller's in Sheffield to map my car. They was going to stick a revo map on, I've decided to use R.T.e.c.h instead now, they get rave reviews from nearly everyone.

I've been In my mates old mk2 cupra that had a revo stage 1 map... That didn't hang about so I can only imagine what there like when stage 2 and 2+ tuned

As for suspension- definitely go for some eibach sportlines, the drop and ride is perfect on these springs.

That's mighty fine of you! If you can post me that gromet that'd be awesome. I checked my local Halfords and they didn't have anything :( I'll Paypal you for postage costs mate that's very kind of you.

Get the shield on there and take some pics! Shouldn't matter if it's metal or foam as long as it's creating a sealed barrier between the hot air of the engine and the cooler part of the engine bay, so should work well. I tried to make one out of plastic but it was huge and a pain to install / uninstall. Plus I later found one of the bolts holding it together was rubbing on the radiator hoses and took a bit of rubber out.

What's the eBay link to that shield?

The item number for the Tfsi kit is- 331216311408 It says it's for a s3 tfsi but the same engine, the heat shield for that would be perfect for ours also.

If you message the seller he will sell the heat-shield seperately

Pm me your address and I'll post you that bung out tomorrow mate, don't worry about paypal'ing me.... It's only about 60p a stamp lol

As some of you may no I had a cobra 3" turbo back fitted not so long ago

Well I have now changed that for a milltek 3" De-cat turbo back with cupra R twin tail pipes and twin rear diffuser.

It came up on eBay for a very good price for the whole lot, The seller turned out to be a Statller Power Developments mechanic

I picked it up from Statller Friday and had got it fitted by 11 this morning

VERY happy with it, the twin rear milltek tips and diffuser look awesome in my opinion folks

Also this week I'm buying a MTC Intake and hopefully Autotech fuel pump internals.

Then on the 21st of July it's booked in for even stage 2 or 2+ at R-T.E.C.H

Here's the ram air filter I've purchased to go with the MTC intake-
