Pretty certain it's officially available now mate. A couple of people have just had their Golf Rs flashed over on rforum.co.uk

How much is a new APR map for the cupra anyways??? Is it better than the Revo map???

The APR camp will all tell you it is faster, better etc etc etc. I haven't driven G's car yet, but will do soon and will be honest when I do. Having said that, except for driving the Scirocco at Crail 2 weeks ago and a test drive of a quick car at the weekend, I haven't driven anything fast since I sold you my car. Therefore I can only compare it to something that it can't be compared to.
That said, G's APR Stage 2+ V3.31 plot is interesting - maximum power at 5750rpm and torque falling reasonably quickly at that point. Not sure what the fastest way would be to drive that car or at which revs would be best to change at as anywhere near the red line will be inefficient in terms of performance and having less revs to play with means more gear changes in theory and gear changes slow you down. It will be good to "feel" it as a bum dyno and a finely tuned ear is useful for getting the best out of a car. Very keen to try it out though
In terms of power and torque plots, the new APR map appears to produce higher figures than others in terms of rolling road plots. However in terms of performance, times and terminals where it matters, it has not proved itself to be faster - yet.
The good thing about APR stepping their game up however is that it will encourage others to do the same. It wasn't long ago that APR trailed in terms of power, torque and performance. If this new map is quicker (and remember that its not going to be night and day different), then expect the others to improve what they have - competition is very healthy for us consumers
