Just had a bump

Driving to work this morning I sit on pollokshields road, I enter a junction with traffic lights at each entrance (just outside the carling acadamy) When the Transit van in front stops suddenly. I brake and slide and hit it. FOOK !!


The guy in the van gets out and I ask him to pull over onto the pavement out of the way of traffic. We swap details and I have a quick look at the LC.

Front N/S light
Front O/S light
Bumper
Crash panel
Bonnet
N/s wing
O/s wing

I wasnt speeding, I wasnt on the phone, I was just too close!!!


God only knows what im in for this time............. It was only 4 months ago a woman drove into the side of me.

I will post pics when its light enough to take some.

Sorry to hear that , it's a pain when someone slams on for no apparant reason but always goes against you for being so close. Fair bit of damage so I'm sure you'll want to go throught the insurance. Much damage to the Transit?

I noticed on Sunday that someone has bumped my car . On the drivers side rear wheel arch directly in line with the plastic trim and a very slight crease under the trim on the rear door . I only noticed it when washing the car , it looks like someone caught it when parking . T***S

i did it in a clio a fair few years back but i was lucky that the nice lady let me pay and not go through the insurance!! £!60 to replace her 306 back bumper. but i had to fork out alot more for mine - headlamps grill slam panel bonnet!!! It is such a bugger - feel for you mate!!!

I would need to go through insurance. 250 excess for a new paint job aint that bad.

I have no NCB as some dolly bird rove into me 5 months ago. and Ive just re-insured so a whole year to prepare myself for the increase in premium.

Graham what about some scraps? I know that parts dont come across to often for the Cupra but troll around on ebay etc. maybe even find some LCR parts maybe a front bumper etc. Id be up for helping you. Alot of hassle though looking around. At least your okay mate. As said above how was te damage to the transit if any?

The transit had two rear doors dented and the bumper was ruined.


In all honesty its made me realise I should be a little care free with my money (having to pay another excess) so when I get it back all repaired I should be able to spend a little more on enhancing the quality product that the seat leon already is.
