Looking at getting a panel filter for new Cupra

I have usually used K&N but been recommended for Vagsport

Any opinions or advice ?

Thanks

I’ve got the VAGsport one and can’t fault it. I believe @Damo H has it too.

I’ve not tried the K&N one so can’t really comment on how it is, but the VAGsport one is top notch :)

@PP Gareth should be able to help you out with getting one if you needed? :)

Yer he has recommended it :) just wondered if one was better than the other as I have already have a K&n but was thinking of returning it based in some reviews I have seen.Something to do with oil and maf sensor ?

I've got the ramair one on mine.

An oiled filter won't affect a turbo car. There's no sensors between the filter and turbo, it's just a straight pipe and there is way more oil coming from the PCV than you'd get from a lightly oiled filter.

Hi, i would also be interested in a VAGsport panel air filter for my 290 lux, is there any club discount?
If it's your first order yes use code PPWELCFIVE , if not then I'm afraid not

Sorry also forgot to ask is the VAGsport panel air filter oiled or not?

Do you think they are a waste of money, any gains to be expected
I have just put a k&n in my FR and defo feel a difference.

Also if you YouTube it shows stock vs panel filter and shows gains but obv unless you do it some people won’t believe

Wouldnt bother with either. Save the money and spend it on a turbo intake pipe.

I did a rolling road test years ago panel filter Vs stock paper and it made 0 difference.

OEM intake and turbo intake pipe is more than sufficient for even Stage 2.

Not all. I've used them for the cost factor, and did get better throttle response on my 86.
The first thing to ascertain is whether there actually is a restriction, and whether it's the filter or the airbox itself.
But I won't use K&N, I've seen too many filter tests where they show poor filtering results. I won't use Pipercross after having three disintegrate while installed.
If you have several years to spare, check out "Bob is the Oil Guy" on filters

What would you use then ?
