Well my K1 is going in tomorrow to have a few things looked at,
1. Boot rattle, think its the catch have put tape around the spindle seems to have stopped it.
2. Rusty hubs all really bad, on a 08 plate
3. Xenons seem to vibrate up and down when i hit any bumps, its not self adjusting movement its as if the whole things are loose
4. Front bumber clips seem to have broken or come off where the bumper meets the lights so sticks out.
5. Steering wheel is off line, annoying when reverse parking have to aim slightly right to go straight.
All minor niggle but a few are very annoying, and have seen that most of these other people have had the same problems.
The girl on the Seat desc where i booked it in in Datchet was really unhelpfull, and really did put me in a bad mood. Hopefully one day Seat dealers will get customer service rite.
I do love my K1 though lol
Will let you all know tomorrow night what they sort out

Both stealers in my area are absolute rubbish, rude, unprofessional, think you are a 'wooden head', always 'your fault', can't possible be theirs.

First service; one in Sunderland wrecked the underside paint at the front of my shiny white FR, obviously kirbed it letting young charvers in for a joy ride at lunch time (dirty feet marks on back of driver seat!!). They denied this of course, I did it.

They put spare oil in a nice Seat pocket in boot, did not tell me, lid not on tight that leaked Agghhhh!!

I wrote to the top guys in Seat UK, never replied, tripe.

The one in Newcastle is no better, I have paint flaking off on rear arch, they took pics 3 weeks ago to 'talk to Seat UK about it', no reply, trying to chase up, why do we have to chase up?, always the same.

Other 'issues' its going in for (just saving them up at the moment):

1. Rusty hubs too ('08).
2. Sound proofing peeking through speedo, rev counter (again).
3. Rattle and squeak passenger door.
4. Intermittent bulb fault warning light.

Not happy, can you tell.
My first and last.

Hi Paul, I'd be interested to hear how you get on with your Xenon lights - mine do this occasionally when I hit rough road - it does seem very odd as they are generally OK in terms of self levelling etc on my K1.

Rusty Hubs appears to be a common issue on the Mk2's ? Mine look the same.
Might just do what others have done, sand them down and paint them myself!

Must say that the 2 SEAT Dealers that I've had direct contact with, regarding maintenance and periodic services have actually been quite decent.

When taking my car in for Services, I always book it in and confirm that I will wait while its being done - that way it's only there for an hour or two and I can for the most part see where it is all the time. :D

4. Intermittent bulb fault warning light.

I also had this at one point. Then when it came on again I actually replaced the "faulty" bulb! ;) Fine since then.
Might be worth going round the bulbs it indicates as at fault and ensuring they are correctly seated and working fine?

K1 home

Just picked my car back up from the stealers, all i can say is what a waste of time, and i even had to pay a tenner for the insurance for the courtacy car.

1.Rusty wheel hubs, as you all seem to say i got the same answer, not warranty work just brake dust, looks like they have cleaned most of the rust off so i now have some bits of shiny metal with no silver paint, looks like ill be getting some Hamerite this weekend.

2. Steering wheel off line, they checked tracking said was sorted, but the steering wheel still isnt straight when i drive in a straight line, i said it was nothing to do with tracking dont think they got what i meant.

3. Boot catch rattle, they said easy one to sort, on report all they have done is lubricated and said no rattles heard, i have had a look and the tape is still on the spindle that i put on 2 days ago.

4. Front bumper clips near headlights broke or come loose, stealer said the front bumper had been change could tell as colour didnt match, on looking the back and front bumber in the rite light look slightly darker, so looks like taking the bumper off and doing the job properly was abit to much like hard work.

5. Xenons vibrating up and down, said they had spoken th Seat technichal and had a look and it is how the lights are.

So for the hassle of loosing the car for the day and paying a tenner they have done f**k all as far as i can see. I really do love the car but the dealer issue is a real problem and they are the only one close by, gutted. I sound like a rite moaner just really annoyed

the closest dealer apart from the datchet one is Farnham, which i know are really good, i brought my Cupra R mark 1 from them and got warranty work and servicing done there, family run place dad runs the garage son the showroom, really showed an interest in problems but they are a 40 min drive from me so need a day off work to get there and back, think i will get the service done there in Jan and get them to look at some of the faults though

yes they will do, both are different material and will reflect certain light in a different way, take a look at a few on their car lot for comparison

saying that it sounds like ya better off doing it yaself in all honesty

Alloy wheels

Just had a quote from a company in slough to get my wheels done gloss black as they are graphite at the moment, £65 per wheel plus vat, is that about the going rate or abit expensive. Its a company called Autowerks, look like a pretty proffesional bunch.

Rusty Hubs are common on a lot of cars (Vauxhall, Honda, etc.).
Painting the hubs will be one of the first things I do when I get my car in November.

My hubs were rusted after about six months on new car. Painted them black and got my wheels done in Black Chrome. Big improvement.

Not all dealers are the same. But SEAT warranty are dire to deal with. They absolutely will not talk to you personally. They are not customer facing. Go to the family run place, they will appreciate the returning business. Large dealers just want the sale.
