Key Fob Problems - HELP PLEASE

I recently bought a Seat Leon MK1 2003 model. The key fob won't unlock or lock the doors. The key fob LED light is not working, I have replaced the battery but still no light shows. It still unlocks the doors manually but I want to get the key fob working.

Can any of you guys help me sort this out?

Check the contacts on the circuit board in the remote.

I have just checked them, no luck. Still no light. This problem is really annoying me as it shouldn't be that bigger task to fix but it just seems to be !


I noticed that when I changed the battery, it was a particular way round...

The writing was face down. Should this be the case ? I also noticed that there was a green paper like material underneath the battery. Any ideas what this is ? Thanks for the reply though. I noticed that in some pictures I have seen on the internet, the battery has writing facing upwards. I have tried it the otherway around and still no luck.

I am ecstatic ! Haha. My mate just fixed it. The longer strip of metal wasn't actually touching the battery for some reason... It looked like it was but wasn't. He just bent the metal so that it touched and VOILA. The key worked and now unlocks and locks the car !

the old metal prong trick has worked for me in the past with my wife's ibiza

How much can I make an ordinary Leon look like a Cupra and would it be expensive?

Yeah i would start a new thread matey and ill try and think of some mods for you when im not fighting to stay awake lol, im not 17 anymore
