key fob

Hi People,

My remote central locking has just died on my 97 16V Cupra - i suspect that there is a fault with the key fob. Where can I get a replacement and how can i reprogram the thing?

what happens when u turn key in lock, do all the doors still lock?

if so its ure fob. prob the battery, if u press the fob is the light dim or not lighting up on the fob?

change the batt in the fob by pulling it carefully appart.

then do a search on here for re-programing the fob.

my key used to constantly lose its code on my old cordy

The light on my fob has never worked so unfortunately I cant fault find using that,

The key does open all of the locks when turned - the red light does come on on the drivers door card beside the pull up button.

I have changed the batt but the thing doesnt work - i will search on how to reprog and see if that works!

yeah thats it, re program it.

mine used to do it from the door lock but some use the ignition, depends on the type of fob.
