Knock when braking

Anyone had issues with knocking noise when braking.

This has just started happening the past few days. When applying the brake at low speed and taking foot off the brake pedal there is a single audible knock/clunk. It seems to be coming from somewhere under the floor where my feet are although not 100% sure.

No other situation causing it such as steering or going over bumps.

S/C FR 150ps diesel @ 13k miles.

Cheers.

JOD.

I would have the brake pads looked at. Most garages do this for free with no obligation. Maybe the noise is caused by the pads moving.

I had a knock/graunching noise, dealer lubricated brake pad carrier, took 2 attempts to fix though.

can i ask if this is through a whole journey or just at the start? the reason i ask is sometimes a small section of rust can appear on the disc where the pads rest. i had a rough spot on my discs last week after a little overnight rain. seemed like the pads were catching for a while until the rust got rubbed off. just a thought :)

Noise occurred when slowing to a stop, also noise was worse when turning and braking.
