Is the car remapped already, ie revo, jabba,cc etc?
It could be one of many things, faulty maf etc too so get someone local to run vagcom on it first, itll cost you maybe a pint or a bacon sarnie!

I'm sorry, i dont understand that!

Does it have a remap?

Do you mean it has a new MAF, or you dont know if it has one?

Post the spec of your car mate, so people know what they are looking at.

Need to give people all the info, if you want a quicker response.

Try unplugging the MAF!

witch is why i asked does the ecu need anything doing to when a lambda is changed as the garage my not have done it

No it does not need mapping or anything like, i have change my MAF and lambda probes and neather made it go slow and i didn't have to VAG-COM it. if anything it should go faster because its got new parts in it. i would surjest that you do VAG-COM it just to clear the fault codes but this would not change performance.

Have you got a boost gauge? If so, if it is only boosting to 5 psi the car is in Limp mode and something is wrong.

also when i start it up it is fine leave it sitting there a few minites and i am getting alot of smoke with a strong fuel smell what could corse this

that doesnt sound too good.......what colour smoke you getting? If its got a nice bluey black shade to it your burning oil and it could point to an unhappy turbo.

Failing that......if the smoke runs clear after driving it, you may find it to be the valve stem oil seals, when you leave your car overnight the oil will have chance to seep down....hence the smoking on start-up.
