Contacted the garage & they stated that there were no errors showing up with the lambda sensor or any other sensor.

Cobra told me they have fitted plenty of these to the same model as mine with no reported issues to date but are going to change it over during this week, and are intrigued to know what's gone wrong.

I can't see any honeycomb bits at the end of the exhaust that I was asked to look for.

Would VAG.com pick any useful data up during driving the car that I could use in my defense, if so, is anyone near Derby that has VAG.com that's willing to help me out for some cash?

Cheers.

Alan.

Could be worthwhile changing the lambda sensor, if it is out, it'll pay for itself in fuel bills before too long.

It sounds like your cat isn't working properly. Coming back toward lambda 1 (your too rich) should help to clean up the CO emission. There's a chance that your remap has cooked the catalyst due to high exhaust temperatures - if that's the case, there's no way around it, you'll need a new cat.

If it was a pikey all the boost none of the fueling type remap, yes I would agree..
EGT protection and fuel dump kicks in however at 920'c even on these crap maps, but it will be doing it very often when mapped badly like that.

Std cars hit protection egt @ 920'c frequently also, and the decent maps will run richer fueling under boost actually Reducing EGT protection from kicking in so often..

Bill, it was your map you did on 16th March 2013 and I've had no apparent issues with it since it's been on the car.

I'm getting the cat replaced this Friday under warranty if all goes to plan & then the re-test is Sat am.

Cheers,

Alan.

I have the Relentless 200cell sports cat and mine failed on emissions too!

Luckily I know my MOT tester so it wasn't a problem but he stated the levels were high then dropped then raised again making it fail!!

It's no doubt that the 200cell cats are maybe smack bang on the limit and it could either pass or fail!!
