I have Custom code and have done for around 3 years. I know you are not going for the CC now, but if you did, i would go to the HQ in Chesterfield. Reason being, James took a loong time on my car when it was getting mapped. He said because the car felt really healthy he could adjust certain things with the map. At a recent RR day at AmD it made 281bhp on the rollers. To everyone that will be uttering yeh yeh, Shaun @ AmD said he was very impressed with how powerful and progressive it was for a stage 1. He warned me to look after it as it was 'immencely fast' even for a stage 2 map. Also he mentioned that i really need to look after it.

With CC it is still an aggressive map when it wants to be, you tend to have a lower torque value but this is spread around the whole rev range and into the redline. Shaun also said he prefers CC cos of the way the power is delivered as my setup is at its most powerful high in the rev range. Dont get sold on peak values, the flatter the curve the more pleasure you will have driving the car.

Is it true that you get more BHP from a custom code remap over a revo remap? I had mine done by custom code and it was basically standard and got 265bhp???

revo and custom code are both top class mapping companys. they both will try to get the most out of the car, i think its down to the car and the map. so some times revo make better gains and some times custom code do. when i went to badger 5, i asked him what one was better as he does both, he couldnt give a answer, they are both good maps.

Does that mean that if they got 265bhp from my R would that suggest that the engine is in good condition? and what kind of BHP would I be looking at if I went stage 2??

stage 2 your looking at 265-275, they state upto 10 bhp more. at the end of the day, i have custom code map, im happy with it, cant put power on the road very well as it just spins. only had it 2weeks with poor weather.

That is the problem with the weather how it is, my car spins like mad with the std map!

I think Dolby makes a very good argument for the CC map and thanks for the input, but still going with the Revo, due to easy (cheap) upgrade to stage 2 and the possibility of using the SPS switch, I read the Badger 5 TIP thread last night and must say really impressed going to try and save a few extra pennies and get it at the same time.

yea im going, i need to now any way... your getting the bad boys in.... mmmmmmmmmmm i like the cream filled ones, my mrs like the the one with cream in and choco on the top...

ive got CC stage 1 on mine, very happy with it and how it delivers the power, but i have never tried a revo map so cannot say between the 2!

I would go with revo all the way now, had an apr map, which i was really impressed about and when awesome did the amnesty i had it changed over to revo stage 1 and setup on the rolling road by jim. God what a difference, was having a few problems with colant temperature sensor, but got that sorted and the revo update last week and 270 bhp & 360 ft-lbs of torque:D

Isn't that a lot of torque for a stage 1?

What's your opinion on the two maps? Pros / Cons? Not many have tried two different maps so comparisons are hard to make for anyone looking for a map

360 ft/lbs! That's past rod bending territory, though depends where your peak is...

Do you have a graph you can post up?

I would be really worried about pushing 360lbft/ What is the cars peak boost? I would say 1.9bar+ to make 360lbft.
