Hi guys!
Was driving about early this week when my brake warning light started flashing and bleeping!
Checked fluid when I got back to base and topped up. All fine.
Then, tonight it started again! Got home and did the same and had a look at the brakes.
Seems something has burst on my off-side brembo, there's fluid everywhere and its made a real mess of the calliper!
Well cheesed off! :censored:
I've always done my best to keep them clean and tidy, now they look biz!
Does anyone know a good place to get em refurbed and rebuilt etc?
Cheers

Loony,

Brembo brakes are a pig when it comes to refurbes / parts.

It sounds like one of the inner fluid seals has given way, causing fluid to leak past the piston and the outer dust seal.

If your fairly mechanically minded, you will be able to sort this yourself by removing the calliper, getting replacment seals and fitting them.

The only place iv found which will sell individial Brembo seals is Competition Braking in Yorkshire, I spoke to Paul Wilkinson when I had to order seals: [email protected]

The piston sizes in the Leon & Ibiza Brembos are 2x 36mm and 2x 40mm per calliper.
Each piston has an inner fluid seal and outer dust seal.

Now onto refurbs, if you want it done professionally, again, youve got more chance of finding rocking horse poo than finding someone to do it.
I searched for days, the only place I could find that would overhaul Brembo Callipers is Mode Performance: www.modeperformance.co.uk

Before you do all that, double check the bleed nipple is tight.

Let us know how you get on!
