LCR Steering wheel

I Bought a LCR 225 steering wheel off eBay & to be honest the top half by the red line is shocking!!! Is there any stuff out there, that will bring the leather back to life or have i been shafted & may as well sling the wheel in the skip?

Mine is getting worn, was thinking about getting it re-trimmed in another material. As there aren't any products I know of to bring it back to life.
