As above what does everyone think

Ive just traded in my Leon and bought an ST2

tbh, the leon cupra r i think is a much better car, personally i wouldnt buy a ford, im sticking with vags unless someone can turn my head

i thought that to be honest until i drove the ST, the St is much better build quality but only because it was desighned around 7 or 8 years after the Leon, I still think the Leons are the best looking of any hot hatch though

yeah totally agree with you, ive not drove an st focus, but i have drove a fiesta st and tbh it wasnt nothing special, not as quick as id expected and it just didnt appeal to me, but the leon cupra r kit is a sexy piece of kit

I had a mate who had a Fiesta ST and always complained at the lack of power and how thirsty the engine was.
I have driven plenty of Fucus's for company cars and was never that impressed, plus IMO i think the are alittle to common even in the ST form.
But i must admit that if i was looking at a hot hatch now, i'd defo take one for a drive to see what the drove like.
In your opinion are they worth what you paid for it??

yeah defo, i possible got one of the cheapest around, i paid £11800 for an 06 with 20k,

Bloody hell, that sounds like a bargain.
And for that sort of many why would you complain at all. I won't be getting rif of my LCR for a while, but might have alook the ST next time round if those are the prices.

Good thing you saved money on the purchase price of the car as the fuel bill will be huge. I was lucky to get any more than 23mpg with my old one, but then again the sound sort of made up for it.

Most of them similar are around 13 to £13500, just found my self a bargain and snapped it up

Ive road tested a silver st 3 didnt like it over the LCR wasnt as powerful and didnt handle aswell as i thought it would. But the engine noise was sweet.

there you go mate youve answered yourself there they have lost a hell of a lot of money in only the short term theyve come on sale, there not bad looking cars really, and pretty quick but common on the road these days, and yeah pretty thirsty.

every time I drove a new ford focus it felt like i was in a bus. The seating position is so high.

I agree the build quality is quite good and better than an LCR however i dont think it is much better. The Leon in my opinion just suffers from rattles in the dash which can easily be resolved with some effort.

the st looks cool but! just dosent do it for me i have owned 2 zetec fiestas , and a st170 a few years a go!! back than i thought you could not beat ford, until i bought a honda civic type r!! only prob was i couldnt stop the arse end from coming out and wrote it off big time!!!! when the insurance paid out! my girlfriend was in love with the early ibiza cupras she showed me the light,,,,,(since then i have had 2 ibiza cupras & a leon 210bhp LCR and now my LCR 225bhp,,,,,,,,,, And since then i have never looked back!! SEAT is the way! and if you had to push me i would buy a Audi!!! the Seats big brother!! BUT IF YOU LIKE YOUR FORD THEN FAIR PLAY ENJOY!

Did not like the Focus. For me the car doesn't feel like it has soul unlike other hot hatches I have driven. The only new school Ford I like is the Focus RS, a bonkers Ford for the new generation.

I think the new ST is lovely!

From what I've read, it handles better than an LCR, looks nicer, and has a considerably better interior and specification. While it's down on power/weight ratio as standard the remap takes it way above LCR remap levels, so that's not an issue either.

The only problem I can see with it is the crappy fuel economy.

I think the ST is pretty cool - looks good, sounds good - the only thing I don't think is quite as good is the chassis, which isn't the best out there when compared to the GTi and Type-R...

Good straight line bruiser!

Isn't the chassis always praised as being great???

While the MK4 Golf - ergo LCR chassis as being a bit crap.

Yes, the TYPE R has the best handling one, but no one likes those cars do they :)

The mk1 focus chassis was awesome for handling, the rear suspension setup makes all the difference. I don't know how the mk2 compares but I can't imagine they completely ballsed it up so much that the mk4 golf chassis would be better
