I think it just shows. When people buy a certain car, sometimes they purchase a set of invisible blinkers too.

Blinkered the fact their car might not be the best.

It's understandable self justification, especially if you've just laid out many thousands on a car. You want to think yours is best. But it's not always the case :)

The mk1 focus chassis was awesome for handling, the rear suspension setup makes all the difference. I don't know how the mk2 compares but I can't imagine they completely ballsed it up so much that the mk4 golf chassis would be better
The new Golf chassis (Mk5) is meant to be better - have you seen the fifthgear vid? I could dig it out later on if you like...

What figures do you get out of them - realistic?

Oh Mr P-Torque, where are the decals you said you were looking into making!!!

It's free advertising for you!

the focus st wasnt as fast as i thought it would be, there was nothing in it between my lc and mates st2...especially in a straight line, thought i was gonna get beat so was v.happy...stick to the seats!

is your mates st standard? if so its not really a fair comparison is it since your car is mapped.

I had this very dilemma when i was looking to upgrade to a better car. Thing that swayed me in the end was driving in one of my friends focus ST it didnt seem all that solid, the build quality felt abit tacky...although there are areas of this on the LCR i just loved the look of it and i have abit of a soft spot for SEAT's (and the fact it was slightly cheaper on fuel/insurance :p)

i guess its not all that fair to compare the LCR and ST as rivals

The LEon has been out for years,

I think if you compare a new cupra mk2 and st, thats more of a fair rivalary, altough the Seat will win all day

You can take the boy out of the Seat but you cannot take the Seat out of the boy

lol:lol:

drove the new mk2 cupra and at the seat dealership they had an st so they put me in it so confident i wouldn't like it...

and yes they were right. engine sounds cool but then it did in the old volvo T5 it came from and colour in orange is different but other than that another dagenham dustbin.
wait for the RS as its going to be built like they used to be in Germany

focus st isnt a problem for me as the weight and handling are ruffly the same but iv got alot more poke , i get more troubled by lighter less powerfull cars on twisterer roads, st owners tend to wait till on the bypass etc and rely on their power to pull away thats why i kinda pee em off a little cos thats what i tend to do ( arbs on the to do list )

Too common for me, also ride too high and seen a few chav's rolling around in them. Probably paying them off for the next 7 years of their lives lol.

The common factor put me off. Next car after my LCR will be an RS4
