Hi, I have been searching on the forum for info relating to shipping times from factory to delivery, I ordered my Leon on 10th of January and the dealership said on Wednesday this week that it has been made but that it may be mid March before I get it, does that sound normal, whats the likelyhood of getting it earlier?

I have a 1.8 but was thinking about Cupra, when I asked the delaer they said the waiting time was 6 months ouch. Last year I got the 1.8 pretty much the day it was estimated for.

I ordered mine early Jan and it was built awaiting shipping to uk last week. I was told it should be ready for early March.

Lots of factors affect lead times and some things are unplanned for.

Production issues - supplier concerns / breakdowns etc
Engine demand (Not all engine variants built in vehicle factory)
Less common options (sunroof etc.)
Transport (Shipping schedule)
Dealer production slots (large networks bulk/book)
Dealer workload - PDI and registration
Your availablity to collect.

Dealers often quote 10-12 weeks. That's usually as at the point of ordering with you in front of them all the above can be a factor and they don't know the detail.

Some cars will be already built and stored at the factory and thus ready just to ship resulting in a lower lead time - suspect UK spec 265 cupra sc falls into this.

Other dealers will use lead times to get you to buy a demo or current stock vehicle that's due in. This is common across some big networks.

My own experience was a 12 week quote and it was ready after 10 weeks and a day. This was with a few options and the newly released 1.8 TSI.

Ordered 2.0tdi SC on 12th Dec and was told 10 weeks. Heard from dealer on 5th Jan and it appeared it had only just been ordered from factory.

Ordered my Cupra 280 at end of November and latest estimate from the dealer is sometime in April.... But then I've gone for the Sub8 and orange line, which apparently they haven't started building at all yet. So depends massively on what model you go for.

Dock to dealer times seem to vary. Ordered my x-perience first week of November. Built mid January, on ship last week of feb. Pick it up on Wednesday (could have picked it up tomorrow but can't take time off work - not happy!)
