Hi all ive got a leak in my drivers side foot well. At first i thought it was my boost gauge pipe but thats fully sealed and its still doing it. I cant seem to find where its coming in. Ive hade the weel arch off as i thought it may be due to the rain gully but nope! I cant find anywere else it could come in! The cars in bits so i dont wnat to put it back until i find it.

I first noticed it when i was tricling down where the bonnet release is (its just in front of that) looking at it it seems to be leaking in at the top right by the electrics!

HELP!

CLICK

I had wipers going mental on me - traced to water on relay - realised under-dash area was soaking - tried to seal for a year - finally fixed it - phew. :)

I was just reading that, but i cant seem to get at the box, i can only flap the plastic cover over the wipers a little bit (taken wipers off) can this come fully out?

I can see bits of foam poking out the bottom of that box?

Yes the lower windscreen cover comes off, but it's a faff and you need to be careful replacing or else you expose the pollen filter & you'll have a leak at the other side.

My issue wasn't the box anyway - it was the windscreen. Which was sealed without removing anything.

I'd try that first mate (although the car needs to be somewhere dry, and ideally for a day or two, to do it).

Thats me fecked then, im just wondering if the stealler can do it under warrenty? as im not 100% sure what it is. But ive got a snooper cable and boost cable running through the box so they may not do it?

Worth a try.

What about that really nasty chip in your windscreen too? Might be worth paying the £50 insurance glass excess to have it changed and proffessionally sealed back in.

I dont think its the window, as it only seems to be a tricle. Just cant get to any of it to look and check! Ive put an extra section in the rain gullys so it goes straight of the wing (rather than drop in then flow out) so hopefully this will help

Mine wasn't a footwell of water either. I wouldn't have thought it would be the screen. But it was. :)

I'd still suggest you try that before you do anything more fiddly.

I had this happen to my Leon while it was still under warranty and they replaced the inner door panel seals, apparently its quite common

My leon was in the dealers a couple of months ago for a similar problem and it was found that a seal in the fuse box was allowing water in. I'm not sure where the seal was but it may be worth checking in the fusebox area.
